I am publishing this post on 31st August, so JAM 2027 exam is scheduled to held on 14th Feb 2027, If we didn’t consider February days, then we will have 5 complete months. Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec of 2026 and Jan of 2027.
So, if you are targeting to get a seat in IITs for MSc, and you are thinking to start your preparation or you are thinking to boost your preparation , and you have a thought whether you will make it to IITs or not and you don’t have a clear roadmap or you don’t have a roadmap or plan, so no worries Kids. Let’s start, our competition is nationwide, some are doing BSc from a top level college like DU, BHU, HCU etc and targeting to get a seat in IITs, as they have secured seats in good colleges they have a strong foundation of the subject, on the other hand some are doing BSc from a local college, where there is no proper faculties, if there is faculty , then there is no lecture upto the mark ! So technically, we running a race, where starting point is different to all.
But, all thanks to Internet, anyone can study from anywhere remotely.
If you commit 5 months, I can assure you all, no matter where is your starting point of the race, you can made it to IITs. As per my experience getting top rank in IIT JAM is not that difficult, if you prepare smartly.
One more thing I would like to give you before telling anything, some of you studying by self from books, study materials, lots of PDFs, youtube videos, google, chatgpt etc, some of you have Joined the coaching online or offline (10:1 Ratio as my analysis) , some of you may be thinking to join some online courses, and you are stuck from where to join. Some of you are thinking to Join Test Series in Last, some of you thinking to join a crash course at last 2-3 months.
So this is prerequisites for this talk, Let’s Start.
Divide your preparation in 2 Blocks.
Block 1 :- Analysis of old papers, collecting resources, understanding concepts, watching lectures/videos, reading books/material, familiarizing with the pattern. Making short notes/class notes/formula notes.
Block 2 :- Practicing PYQs, solving mock tests, solving assignments, revising, learning, repeating !
Our ultimate goal is to be able to solve 60 questions on examination day, so as Physics paper is concern, you need to solve numericals, to be able to solve numericals you need to pracice physics problems a lot, for this you need time, your major time, if your major time goes in just watching lectures/videos, studying theory, making notes, then sadly, you are not gonna make it to IITs. You cannot start on Day Zero from solving numericals, studying concepts, understanding formulas and parameter is necessary, what my point is bind the Block 1 as soon as possible, maximum 2.5 to 3 Motnhs, you must have more than 2 months for only Numerical solving.
So you are competing with Nationwide, and also with those who studying from a coaching, they don’t need to figure out what to study what not.
So, I have an Idea, I would tell my 5 Months Plan for My IIT JAM 2027 Batch, and what you do, just clone the preparation, and you will be able to compete at National level.
My Plan is simple, I have taught 90% of Mathematical Physics, Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism, only 4 topics remains, If I took maximum time in completing it will be maximum 15 Nov, not a single day more than it, most probably early, what we will do then, from 1st November I will start Revision Batch, there we used to spent 10-20% time on concept, 80%+ time on solving a great variety of problems covering PYQs of all major exams, covering standard books good and recommended problems. As from upcoming month of october I will be starting taking Mock Tests, Subjectiwse, Full Syllabus, Mini as well as Full length on a JAM CBT Interface.
So you need to do the same, bind up Block 1 till 15 Nov or Maximum 30 Nov, then jump to Block 2, which is more important and useful.
